Why is double posting considered so wrong?
Every time you double post, one of the hamsters that power the servers dies.
LOL kryo
I think double posting is wrong because it's a trend that some people take to ensure people reads their post
which is just wrong because, if everyone did it, we would end with double lenght threads, double time to read or go through, double factor of annoyance.... and so on ....
I'm aware that some people do it because their comp is slow and they tend to do multiple clicks on the "post reply" button, but those people shall learn that patience is a virtue
I don't know.
thread necromancy is also considered wrong by the way
LOL@ this whole thread.
Wonder if bumping will ignite further wrath?
Bump.
Aghhh my cats on fire and the sky is red!!!!
There are these 4 guys on horses who look pretty cool though.....
If you happen to be the 26th poster on any given thread, i'll bet you'd also make a double-post since that's when the refresh pagination gimmick TRIES to access any of our browser caches.
I update on every time i view a page with SeaMonkey and it still happens.
Sooo... better watch for the 25th message in some threads to prove my theory.
Checking out if the above showed up.
#2.
Yep, it did.
#3 (Triple post, on purpose that is)
Tha hamsters are all dead now and it's your fault.
all good responces.
it's like posting in ALL CAPS too.
we can all read just fine there is no need to YELL.it only makes you look like a fool and will often result in only flaming comments rather than answering or contributing to your issue.
if like whismerhill suggested that it is due to a slow system and doubles up in the same thread that is a little more acceptable as it can be accidental, but to actually start a new thread for the same reason is absolutly NOT needed.
If you get no responce from your first post it usually means nobody wants to reply or nobody who knows the answer your looking for has viewed your post yet. give it up!! Double posting is usually not going to fix either one, but will tell people that your a spammer if it continues and from that point you get ignored, flamed or banned.
if you must, bumping is a little more acceptable but only if needed. Case in point, I asked a question on Firefox forums, they get so many posts that 4 hours later my post was 8 pages back, I let it go, and by the end of the day it was 40+ pages back, few rarely go that far reading posts, so I bumped it to bring it back to the front page for a while, still no reply, bumb again later at about 20 pages back, still no reply...gave up they obviously don't want to answer or don't know the answer I was seeking.
God Damit...no wonder the SD servers have been so slow today...thanx Zyxpsilon
lol
